Free clothing closets, school supplies, and furniture Brazoria County.

Free clothes for work, back to school supplies, furniture and other needs are available in Brazoria County. There are a number of charities that provide this form of assistance to the working poor. There are also church run clothing closets and regional organizations in the Pearland area, including the Salvation Army, that provide free furniture and other supplies to the needy.

There are donations from the community that allow these programs to operate on an annual basis. Many volunteers also give some of their time by sorting clothes, holding fund raisers, and providing support in other ways. They also give students from K-12 backpacks, laptops and other goods (as donations allow). What may be offered across the Brazoria County community is the following.

  • Free Back to School Supply drives offer immunization shots, scoliosis screening, uniforms, notebooks, computers, and more to children.
  • Personal needs for adults including toiletries, soap, razors, and hygiene supplies.
  • Clothes for work, which may come in the form of dresses, suits, slacks, work boots, gloves, etc.
  • Electronics, including free laptops for students or job seekers.
  • Household supplies including books on financial literacy, saving, investing, and other topics.

Other items may be given too. Note applicants need to meet income guidelines and live within the service territory.
