Free food pantries and groceries in Arlington County and Alexandria.

Free food pantries provide assistance to low income families and people with no money in the Arlington County and city of Alexandria. The charities and churches that run these food distribution centers that are open today combine boxes of groceries with other basic needs, such as hygiene supplies or free Christmas meals. Many of the centers in Arlington also administer government benefits, such as SNAP food stamps or vouchers for WIC. Or there are free soup kitchens for hot meals, including for the homeless. This government agency accepts applications to SNAP benefits (food stamps) as well as EBT. The government agency can offer referrals to pantries. They also have applications for SNAP food stamps as well as WIC vouchers. Other programs for addressing hunger or homeless include shelter, hot meals, and transitional homes. Only provides food, groceries, clothing and other support to military members in Arlington County as well as veterans. The agency also covers Alexandria.

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church

A free food pantry is on site. It is for low-income families in Alexandria as well as Arlington VA. Based on donations, there will be Canned Meats such as Tuna, Ham, Chicken. Or get bread, sandwiches, or spam and beans. The pantry will also have holiday food baskets, such as Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas food baskets for the low-income or single moms.

Programs include an emergency food banks, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, and a thrift store. There is also aid for energy bills, gifts for children at Christmas, and more. People in both Alexandra and Arlington County can get free food, baby formula, cereal, and other stuff. Or a soup kitchen is for the homeless and poor.   • Salvation Army Alexandria Corps is another location. The free food pantry and soup kitchen is at 1555 King St, Alexandria, VA 22314. Phone: (202) 756-2600. A food pantry and low cost clothing bank are on site. There may also be vouchers for a grocery store, and they also provide Angel Tree Christmas toys for children and meals.

Financial aid for living expenses and bills is combined with a free food pantry and soup kitchen. They also operate a Meals on Wheels service for senior citizens in the region, including Alexandria. There is also fresh produce to families with children, baby formula, diapers and other stuff.

The church has fresh produce, groceries, milk and staple foods. Up to 5 days of goods are passed out once a month to working poor families. Department of Agriculture income levels are in place, and all households in Alexandra that are currently receiving SSI, SNAP  Food Stamps or Medicaid can use the pantry.
