Anderson County food banks and pantries.

Anderson County has several food pantries for its residents. However the locations will often be in nearby towns or even counties, so there may be some travel involved. If a center is impossible to reach, then referrals may be given to other food banks that may be closer or the homebound can inquire into Meals on Wheels.

The services available at each pantry will vary. Some will not only offer a free box of healthy groceries, but staff will often also provide food stamp application assistance to the low income. They can also refer clients to USDA commodities or other government aid, including WIC vouchers. So many resources may be provided by an Anderson County pantry.

Pantries will often have other items to pass out. This may be basic household goods or pots and pans for a kitchen or hygiene items. Other holiday help may be administered too. So numerous programs are offered.
