Utility company is ending payment plan so facing disconnecti

I had my electric bill setup on a payment plan and my whole family got the flu so I missed a payment by 4 days. I called to see if I could reset the payment plan and they said no and now want the full amount in ten days! I cannot do this and I need help. What are my options?

There may be some laws to protect you if the utility company is suddenly taking back an agreed upon plan. More on utility disconnection laws. Each state has consumer protection bureaus and agencies at the state level. So check in with them for advice.
