Medical hardship on our utility account
We are not considered low income; however, we are struggling with medical issues (and paying the bills). A couple months ago we provided MidAmerican with a medical form (completed and faxed by one of our doctors). We have a disconnection notice that could happen at any time. I am struggling to find the resources to pay I think at least $1,300.00. I called customer service; however they weren't able to give us an extension. My question is whether or not we can possibly again provide a medical necessity form. I hate to ask but I won't be able to pay this until November 1. Thank you for your time and support.

Re: Medical hardship on our utility account
Many companies, including we think Mid America, offer disconnection prevention plans for certain conditions, such as medical reasons. State laws also often protect consumers in these cases. So we have information on those and your legal rights as well, by state. Click details.
